Another great interview. I really enjoyed the interviews with Troy & John. I like how they mention that their are hundreds of long term couples in the world. We just don't recognize and highlight them. Thank you John & Troy for sharing you life with the world. It gives inspiration that you can find LTR's out there but also that it takes patients and work. Ramble --please keep us posted on the adoption.

I recently posted a thread on a discussion board about a comment one of my students made in an assignment that dealt with selecting materials for a library with gay themes. She quoted a line from a book that stated that gays didn't usually don't buy into the the conventional "till death do us part". I asked her that she might reconsider the comment in light of the movement toward gay marriage and that the comment may have been a generalization (and as we know all generalizations are false, including this one) which comes about because of the press highlighting the stereotyped behavior of some.

Anyway, the inspirational story of Troy and John is wonderful, and is a continuation of the quiet reality that has always been there in many gay relationships. It's only recently that relationships like the two Mounties or Elton John and his husband has been making the headlines. It's great to have this side of the gay community getting its due.

Thanks to all of you who have responded to this couple - you can hear the love they have for each other and the love they will provide that lucky child they will be adopting soon!

This probably doesn't sound right, but the impression I got from listening to this is that John & Troy would make excellent neighbors. They seem to be the kind of people you'd want to have over for dinner.

Thanks Tom, and God keep the both of them.
